This week the babies and toddlers in our classes have been making Mother’s Day cards, they are really quick and easy to make and the little ones have loved them.
You just need a head of celery that you cut across the width of and the stalks make a lovely rose shape. We then used crayola washable paint in red and pink to dip the celery head into the paint and do some printing. Our top tip is to have a sheet of scrap paper near and once you have loaded the paint onto the celery do several prints on the paper, the first prints are very smudgy and once you have a print that you like on the paper, do the next one on your card or canvas.
Our little ones were able to help with holding the celery while their parent controlled it going onto the paper, it was a fun activity to do together and it was great to see their faces when the prints were made, lots of cause and effect!
We used a pen to drawn on leaves and stalks and make some designs on the cards. These Mother’s Day cards were a real team effort!
