Easter Egg Texture Play

We have had fun this week playing with lots of textures in our Easter egg texture play box, it was a great success with our toddlers. We popped our eggs into a basin of grass, which was coloured breadcrumbs. It smelt amazing and they had great fun scooping the crumb into the eggs, through their fingers and they were hiding the eggs in the crumb mixture.

The crumb mixture is mouldable and when squeezed together the little ones made shapes and pushed the mixture into the egg shapes.

To make the crumb, we blitzed a loaf of white bread in our blender together with a very small amount of gel food colour and it creates a fine crumb. The colour is really vibrant. Our favourite toys to play with were all egg related, and we loved these nesting eggs from the Early Learning Centre, they are sturdy and we had fun hiding the little chick in the eggs.

Have lots of fun and please do supervise your little one when they play. Remember that the crumb is bread so it is not long lasting but it is great fun!
